All the memories
Memories, lived lives and recurring imagery are what I find particularly interesting; the way I try to memorise the past and how I tend to romanticise this past time.
My work practice encapsulates recreating and reprogram these memories, using recurrent imagery in different media. My practice explores how the different layers of the memory fade into each other - like an unending double exposure where the memories alter and fade into each other; continually fighting for focus and attention. The purple bikini worn by holiday love fading into the beautiful blue colour of a lake you saw in the forest as a kid.
Poetry for me is a worldview, a particular relationship to reality, how I deal with reality and how I experience time within this reality. When I talk about poetry, I don’t consider her as a single genre - I see beauty in combinations, a specific combination that’s there all the time and just comes visible as you look for it.
